0:13.0	Well, every dimension of human life comes with deep worldview significance.
0:18.0	There are issues we need to confront in every single human endeavor.
0:22.0	One of the most interesting is sports and that's because in the
0:26.0	concentration of human energy, curiosity, indeed even devotion to sports you find out a lot about what people really believe.
0:34.4	And furthermore, in the expression of sports in a society, you find out both by the rules that
0:40.4	are kept and the rules that aren't how a moral universe reaches down
0:45.2	into even the intricacies of sport and frankly at every level. We're talking
0:50.8	here about the NBA as well as little league.
0:53.7	Of course in recent days there's been a lot of conversation about the
0:56.7	NBA and in particular about John T. Porter who finds himself now banned from the
1:01.8	sport for life for his involvement in bedding.
1:05.3	And what makes this particularly interesting is that he was found guilty of being involved
1:09.7	in sports bedding in which basically it came down to the fact that he had to fail in order for
1:16.3	those with the financial interest to win the bet.
1:19.8	It was organized corruption.
1:21.6	It involved not only his own team, it involved himself as a player and he
1:27.4	found out the hard way that involvement in that kind of gambling is at least one line that the NBA says you can't cross.
1:35.0	Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA,
1:37.0	announced that just in recent days he is now banned for life from the sport.
