The tornado outbreak overnight. Most

notable was a large and destructive tornado that tore through parts of Enid and the Vance Air Force

base in Oklahoma. A rare tornado emergency alert was issued by the National Weather Service. That's the

highest alert level. Our team is on the scene in Oklahoma, but Ginger's here to start us off. Good morning,

Ginger. Yeah, this is really one of 17 reported tornadoes yesterday through Iowa, Kansas, and northern Oklahoma.

And this is day one of a five-day severe weather outbreak.

That is insane.

A devastating tornado levels parts of Oklahoma.

A particularly dangerous situation tornado warning was issued, telling people to take cover as the massive stovepipe tornado tore through the city of Enid.

That house is flattened. That house is completely flat.

And look how big that tornado is.

That is getting bigger and bigger and bigger right now.

The twister destroying several homes, people reportedly trapped.

Look at this!

Vance Air Force Base taking a direct hit, officials there checking structures for damage.

In a nearby field, huge pieces of industrial equipment tossed onto trucks or flipped on its side.

It really gives you perspective of how strong this tornado was.

Emergency responders dodging debris as they raced to the scene to help with search and rescue.
