| 0:00.0 | It's Friday, April 10, 2006. I'm Albert Moller, and this is the briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview. |
| 0:13.4 | And by the way, today I'm coming to you with the background of the arc. All right, very interesting things are happening. You know, one of the most interesting |
| 0:23.4 | dynamics in terms of American culture, it comes down to the cycle of presidential elections. So when |
| 0:29.2 | you think about issues rising and falling, and even if you're trying just to track cultural and |
| 0:34.2 | moral change, one of the ways you can easily track it is by looking at the issues of debate, |
| 0:39.5 | presidential cycle by presidential election cycle. Okay, so the interesting action right now is not on |
| 0:45.5 | the Republican side because you have a Republican incumbent. It's on the Democratic side. |
| 0:50.6 | Because the Democrats, and there are many of them who are interested in gaining the |
| 0:54.7 | 2008 Democratic nomination, they're out on the hustings. They're making their case. On the |
| 1:00.6 | Republican side, you can't do that when you have an incumbent. Now, it will come at some point, |

| 1:10.2 | reason for them not to get |
| 1:11.5 | into a slug fest right now. Okay, so something very interesting is happening. And in worldview |
| 1:16.6 | terms, I think it's just really interesting. So now, let me just tell you about an article that |
| 1:21.2 | recently ran in the New York Times. It ran on April the 5th. So that's just the past Sunday. |
| 1:27.3 | And the headline is this, Newsome has entered the 5th. So that's just the past Sunday. And the headline is this, Newsom has entered |
| 1:30.2 | the Manosphere. So we're talking about Gavin Newsom, very liberal Democratic governor of California, |
| 1:36.5 | very hungry as a presidential candidate. I mean, the fact that he's very interested in the |
| 1:40.8 | 2008 presidential nomination is unknown to nobody. It's as out there as it can be. |
| 1:48.1 | But it's not just about Gavin Newsom. It's also, in another sense, an issue about Rahm Emanuel, |
| 1:54.9 | who, of course, is a former U.S. ambassador to Japan under President Biden, senior White House official under President Obama, |
| 2:03.7 | former U.S. member of Congress, very well known, also basically very liberal in terms of basic |
