A federal judge in Texas ruled Thursday evening that President Biden's student loan bailout

is illegal.

In this country, we are not ruled by an all-powerful executive with a pen and a phone.

Judge Mark Pittman wrote in his order, instead we are ruled by a constitution that provides

for three distinct and independent branches of government.

President Biden is set to meet with China's Xi Jinping for the first time of his presidency.

The two leaders will meet on Monday on the sidelines of next week's Group of 20 Summit

in Bali and Indonesia.

The face-to-face meeting comes as relations between the U.S. and China grow increasingly

strained and weeks after Xi was awarded an untraditional third five-year term as leader

of the Chinese Communist Party.

President Biden has made it a priority to keep lines of communication open with President

Xi to responsibly manage the competition between our two countries.

And he believes there is no more important channel than that between the leaders of the

United States and China.

The meeting between President Biden and President Xi will be an in-depth and substantive opportunity

to better understand one another's priorities and intentions.
