The SFA have opened up a can of worms. It is they who now find themselves in the dock when they're supposed to be judge and jury.

Now it's open season on the governing body. Rangers said they were being singled out when John Flanagan was offered a two-game ban.

Celtic now say it's an embarrassment for Scottish football that Flanagan's ban has been overturned on appeal.

In the meantime, the SFA's disciplinary system appears to bend in the wind. Next season, anybody can appeal anything and know they've got a chance of getting off.
