We've all done things that we regret, things that if we could look back, we would do differently,

possibly things that have harmed others or harmed ourselves. And I don't know about you, but for me,

it is very easy to carry around regret and weight and guilt because of these mistakes. In a moment, I'm going

to read a poem to you that was written by a man who made some mistakes. He actually cheated on his

spouse, committed adultery, and he didn't tell anybody about it for a while and then eventually he did these are the

words that he wrote but before i read these verses in this poem will you take a moment tell yourself

honestly am i carrying around regret, guilt, weight?

Let yourself feel those things in this moment.

Now let's take three deep breaths together so that we can prepare

to hear these words of this poem that were written.

Breathe in and out. In and out. The words of this poem say this. Count yourself lucky. How happy you must be. You get a

fresh start. Your slate is wiped clean. Count yourself lucky. God holds nothing against you and you

are holding nothing back from him. When I kept it all inside,

my bones turned to powder. My words became day-long groans. The pressure, it never let up. All the juices

of my life dried up. Then I let it all out.

I said, I will make a confession of my failures to God.

And suddenly, the pressure was gone.

My guilt dissolved.

My sin disappeared.

Do you know that these words that were written thousands of years ago can apply to you and to me today?

With that in mind, will you think about that thing you're holding regret or guilt over?

And will you have your own conversation with God?
