Summary
This week on Pardon the Mess we’re going to places we’ve never been before!
You’ve heard Cynthia Yanof interview guests each week as we talk parenting, but today there’s no guest. It’s Cynthia unplugged!
Cynthia talks candidly about the places where the Lord has worked in her life the last several years, and encourages us to live for the higher purposes of God. She reminds us to be careful not to let the mundane trump the mission in our life, and challenges us to live interruptable.
Bonus: She share the best parenting advice she’s ever received!
Today’s episode will no doubt make you laugh while challenging you to make the most of every day for the Lord - because the Lord has mighty plans for each of us and there’s no time to waste when the days are short.

| 0:00.0 | Hey guys, Cynthia Yanoff here. |
| 0:02.1 | Host a part in the mess. |
| 0:03.2 | I am so glad you're with us, as always. |
| 0:05.9 | I want to take a minute before we get rolling to talk to you about a new prayer journal |
| 0:10.0 | we have out. |
| 0:11.0 | If you've already heard about an ordered one, that's awesome. |
| 0:13.7 | If you have not, let me tell you briefly what we have. |
| 0:17.1 | A couple of months ago, it's just on my heart that I need to be more diligent about |
| 0:20.7 | praying for |
| 0:21.1 | my kids. And I know that may seem kind of obvious that we need to pray for our kids, but if you're |
| 0:25.3 | like me, we do a million things every day as parents, and sometimes prayer can be on the back burner. |
| 0:31.2 | And so the heart behind this book was to set it up in a way that it would correspond with the |
| 0:35.5 | school year. And so each week, starting in |
| 0:38.6 | September of the school year, September to May, I've written it where there is a different topic |
| 0:43.2 | we'll pray over our kids. So the first week, we might pray that they're light in the darkness. |
| 0:46.7 | And the next week, it might be praying security or protection over them. The next week, |
| 0:51.4 | we would pray that God would have favor on them. Each week, it's a different |
| 0:55.5 | concept. And so there's a little commentary for me about what we're praying as well as |
| 0:59.4 | scripture to pray over them. There's also lines to journal. And I know you may be like, |
| 1:03.2 | I'm not a journaler. And I get it because I'm not either. But just jotting down the areas we're |
| 1:07.9 | praying for our kids, where we're seeing growth, where they need growth, just making notes. And the hope would be that at the end of the school year, |
| 1:13.3 | we'd be able to look back at some of our notes and see where God was so faithful in their lives |
