for Priscian Amantpur. Well France's highest constitutional court has just approved a pension reform plan that has triggered months of anger and discontent.

The controversial bill which will raise the retirement from 62 to 64 could be enacted as soon as

this weekend.

Now the new law has put French President Emmanuel Macron under immense pressure, but he says

it is essential.

Demonstrators are already back on the streets

and voicing their opposition.
