Hello and welcome to this, the very first episode of our brand new series Journey to the East.

I am your host and I am very, very happy to welcome Samson to the table.

This is the first time that we have been able to sit across the table from one another like this.

Samson has already made his debut on Brokonomics showing his face, but for those of you who haven't watched that yet, this will be your formal introduction.

Yes, hello everyone. You probably know me from Arena Chat or from the mystical voice behind the camera.

If you haven't already watched Dan's Brokeonomics, where I talked about Warhammer,ally got you all very angry by making things ever so slightly incorrect.

Making things up?

No, no.

No, I wouldn't dream of that.

No, I don't know what we're talking about.

No, I'm here in the flesh now.

So get used to it.

Yes, and we decided we wanted to do a series following up Comics Corner, which obviously

I used to do with Connor, but not exactly just doing the same thing again.

And so we decided because we both have a mutual interest in the pop culture that originates

from the East, particularly Japan, to focus it more on stuff that was coming from over there. And we didn't

just want to make it purely about pop culture. So as a broader view, this series will be looking

into a lot of stuff regarding the history and general culture of Japan as well. And I'm learning

a lot about it. And we hope that if you join us on this journey

that you will learn a lot as well I'll be learning as we go Samson's already a lot more well informed on a lot of things than I am So we've spent a little bit of time in the office talking about various weeb things Like I've recent as people might know they might have seen on Twitter I've been watching all Dragon Ball recently and it's been like i've been like a 12 year old kid watching it on um bloody what's the name of

that what's the name of the television show the pro um america uh adult swim oh yes uh what

everyone seemed to watch dragon ball when they were younger and i certainly did. I somehow missed it. Even though I'm probably the biggest weave that most people in this office have ever seen. I haven't watched it. I can't believe you'd missed it up until this point. But stay tuned for that for a few. We will do Dragon Ball. Because while we are trying to make it more about broad culture, obviously we'll be looking at a lot of pop culture as well. I'll probably be finishing off the Berserk series that I started with Connor way, way, way back when with Comics Corner. So we decided we wanted to do the series. We weren't going to start with the Silent Hill episode, but we decided given that it's Halloween, given that
