I want you to understand that there is a powerful and holy determination in the heart of the father to set every one of his children free from legalism.

To empower every one of us to understand the height, the depth, the length and the breadth of the freedom that belongs to us in Jesus.

Jesus paid a horrific price to win us that freedom.

It's a huge thing in the heart of God that we should be unbound and that we should be completely free, able to pursue Him, able to explore Him, able to walk with Him without being subject to any rules or regulations from the heart of man.

If you read the New Testament, particularly if you look through the book of Acts, if you read the Epistles, so much of the writing of the Apostles was to teach the church how to avoid legalism and religiosity.

It was a major fight in the body of Christ in the early church because there were people, a lot of whom were Jews who were still living under the old covenant and didn't really understand the new covenant had come to replace it.

So they were constantly going around the early churches, trying to get them to either be circumcised or to embrace this particular law or this particular rule.
