Summary

Freedom Beyond Selfing - We spend many moments in a trance of selfing - preoccupied with the stories, wants and fears of what feels to be a separate self. The suffering is that this self-fixation obscures the depth and mystery of our being. In this talk we explore how to relate wisely to selfing, and discover the light and love that express our true nature.

0:44.4	And as I heard back when my son was young in elementary school in the school's art classes,
0:50.3	they'd have the children divide up in fours.
0:53.1	And as a story goes, this is a teacher would be kind of circling around and the children
0:58.9	would be drawing at their tables.
1:01.3	And one little girl was particularly industrious into her picture.
1:06.5	So the teacher asked her what she was drawing and the little girl said, I'm drawing God.
1:14.1	And the teacher kind of chuckled and said, well, no one knows what God looks like.
1:21.2	And without looking up, without even moving at all, the little girl said, they will in
1:27.3	a moment.
1:28.3	I always love that.
1:32.8	And it makes me think about John O'Donohue, whose poet wise man no longer alive.
1:42.0	And he wrote that we're so busy managing things that we forget this great mystery that
1:50.2	we're involved with.
1:53.4	And that so resonates for me.
