My father was so old that he couldn't walk properly. He told us to escape. He said,

The next day they locked him inside the house and they set the house on fire.

For months distressing stories have been emerging from a part of Myanmar that the authorities have sealed off from the outside world.

More than 70,000 stateless Muslims called the Rohingya have fled across the border to Bangladesh.

They're running from what the United Nations is calling

crimes against humanity, perpetrated by the Burmese Army.

Mohammed Salaam is just one victim.

When the security forces moved in,

his entire village was forced to flee.

We all got on a boat in the middle of the night to cross the river now into Bangladesh but the Myanmar

border guard saw us and they shot down the boatman he fell down into the river then the boat tilted down and started to sing.

Around 35 people were on board.

Many of them were women and children.

I don't know whether they made it. and children.

Days later, a few of the Rohingya returned to Mohammed's village,
