In today's episode, we are going to talk about delineating what you will not do in order to do what you're doing better.

Okay, so I want to start by sharing a text I sent out in our text community the other day, and then I'll expound upon it here.

It said, clearly delineating what you will not do in any given moment, freeze your attention to fully engage in what you are doing.

A long to-do list is not the hindrance to performance.

It's our ambiguity around what we should be doing in this moment.

So that last line I especially want us to pay attention to because I think that's really the punchline here. That often when we look at why we're

not being effective or why maybe we even feel tense with our work, it's often coming

from a place of, I have so much to do.

There's just so many things on the to-do list.

But the reality is that it doesn't matter how long that to-do list is, you can only do one of those things in any moment.

And not even a full thing, just a piece of that thing in any given moment.

So what is actually being asked of you is not that whole to-do list.

It's the thing that's here.

But how often do we get caught in the cycle of working on something,

but also ruminating about everything else that needs to get done?

And even questioning, like, is this where I should be putting my time right now?

Like, this needs to get done, this needs to get done.
