Now a lot of people have also discussed defamation cases and fake news.

Why is it that so many outlets are allowed to publish lies and get away with it?

Why aren't any of these platforms responsible for putting out misinformation?

One of the most important pieces of legislation, which was passed in 1996, is called Section

230, and it gives these companies protection against being sued based on what a third party

published to their platform.

Some people say this guarantees free speech on the internet and is possibly the most important

legislation as it pertains to the internet.

But some of these rights are being stripped away, some of these protections are being stripped
