Let's go ahead and jump into our study together.

I want you to go ahead and turn to the Gospel of John, chapter 8.

We're going to be in a message entitled, Free Indeed.

And we're going to be in verses 31 through 36.

And we are just coming off of celebrating the 249th birthday of America.

And I hope that your day was filled with radical celebration, as mine was.

Radical celebration of the freedom that we enjoy in this great nation.

And yes, to be clear, this nation is great.

And we're not afraid to say it, and we're not going to apologize for it.

I recently saw a clip on social media of two WMBA announcers.

Let me be clear, I don't watch the WNBA, but like I said, it was a clip I saw on social media,

and one of the announcers, the commentators, made a comment,

and it was in the context of how in America you can disagree with someone and then like still have a hot dog with them, we're out of barbecue, right?

We love that about this nation, the freedom to have different opinions.

Well, this commentator made the comment.

She said, that's what makes America great.

Am I right?

Well, the other commentator must have been pretty woke because what followed that comment was the most awkward 20-second silence I've ever heard in my life.

She could not stand to hear America be referred to as great.

And after this silence, the commentator who made that initial comment,

apologize.

Yeah.
