| 0:00.0 | Hello this is Eat Sleep Work Repeat on Bruce D's lead to a podcast about making work better. |
| 0:13.0 | Lovely response to the last few episodes. |
| 0:16.0 | There was an episode with Cal Newport questioning the relationships we have with our screens. |
| 0:21.0 | There's a previous episode that was really good just looking at |
| 0:24.2 | the latest bits of research into things like loneliness and the evidence of |
| 0:28.3 | working long hours. I've been subjected to a terrible roof leak in the intervening time, water pouring onto my bed at night, |
| 0:36.0 | last night water pouring into my toilet. You know, you wake up and you've got like this noise in the back |
| 0:41.3 | your head and it's of water gushing not a nice thing. |
| 0:45.6 | Annoyingly the people have said that they can't come around and fix the leak till it stops |
| 0:49.9 | raining. So every time it rains this week think of me water gradually gushing unto my |
| 0:55.0 | weary weary face. Right I'm buzzing about this episode now my book The Joy of |

| 1:12.2 | don't make much progress in them and so that's |
| 1:14.6 | the bit that people have read in the book. The reason why I put those personal |
| 1:18.2 | interventions in is because I'm convinced you can't fix work culture until you've made people feel more alive and |
| 1:24.5 | less exhausted by their jobs. So I love that stuff I think you'll genuinely |
| 1:30.0 | laugh at that but my favorite part of the book is when I got into the science of |
| 1:33.9 | better team working and better team cultures and it's about a hundred pages in and |
| 1:38.1 | I know it's like I should have just maybe I should have put that at the start of |
| 1:42.4 | the book but it sort of works better as it is. |
