Welcome to the Peter King podcast and man we've got a lot to go over this week with my friend Paul Burmeister of NBC Sports, my podcast partner, and so much to talk about, but let me just sort of preview what we're going to go through.

So we're going to go through the early stages of free agency, the first 24 hours, what happened,

what didn't happen, who won, who lost, blah, blah, blah.

Then we are going to discuss probably the two biggest stories of the last 48 to 72 hours, the status of Deshaun Watson, where he might go, what are the looming

issues remaining for Deshaun Watson and also Tom Brady's return, although I think a lot of us thought there was a good chance he was going to come back.

The way in which he did come back and his timing really impacted the first

stages of free agency.

Then we are going to go to an interview that I did at the scouting combine with Josh

McDaniel's the new coach of the Las Vegas Raiders and so we've got a packed, packed podcast. Paul Burmister, how are you?

Well, Peter, how are you? I was, I've been thinking about you the last day just in terms of the

NFL calendar and I know there are certain busy times that pop up but just

wondering before we get into the details the first 24 hours of NFL free

agency how do they compare to some of the other urgent times that we see on the clock throughout the year?

Well, you know, Paul, as I wrote in my column this week, and look, I was finished with my column at four o'clock

Sunday afternoon and I told my editor

Don Bán Vissuto hey listen this is it

unless something breaks tonight and then obviously Brady happened

but let's take Brady away what I basically wrote in my column this week was this is always sort of the weirdest column of the year

because it's almost fruitless for me to say hey here's where I project the top free agents to go.

And what I said at the top of my column

before Brady interceded, what I said at that point was basically that, look, I think I only know one thing,

and that is that the chargers are going to go hard after J.C. Jackson, the New England cornerback.
