| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to episode 966 of the official Establish the Run.com podcast. |
| 0:21.7 | My name is Adam Levittan. |
| 0:22.9 | I am one of the co-founders here at ETR. |
| 0:25.1 | As always, joined by fellow co-founder, Evan Silva. |
| 0:28.2 | An NFL free agency is wrapping up. |
| 0:31.4 | Evan, how's it going today? |
| 0:32.9 | It's going well. |
| 0:33.7 | I was looking at the list that Adam sent me of players and moves that we're going to |
| 0:38.0 | talk about today. And in past years, the second free agent show that we would do was kind of loaded |
| 0:45.1 | jam-packed with interesting information. This year, it's not. And we talked about a couple of theories |
| 0:52.0 | on why that might be. Number one, a salary cap has risen. |
| 0:55.5 | It rose substantial. It went up by $22 million. That's two extra starters. But also teams |
| 1:03.0 | have gotten smarter and they've been more focused on keeping their own, not just because |
| 1:08.1 | keeping their own is a good thing for an organization to be |
| 1:13.0 | able to sell to other players to, you know, front office executives to coaches, but also |
| 1:18.6 | because when teams keep their own ahead of the free agency period, they get players for |
| 1:24.9 | less money. So it makes financial sense as well. So that leaves us with, you know, |
| 1:30.9 | we had an info-packed first free agency show, but this one is just a little bit underwhelming |
| 1:36.8 | as compared to past years. Yeah, you know, I like kind of the smaller moves because I'm playing |
| 1:41.8 | this best ball stuff that's 18 rounds and 20 rounds |
| 1:44.4 | and this stuff really matters 100%. But there are some big moves that I think we need to get to |
| 1:49.1 | also. On today's show, we're going to discuss the fallout from the second wave of free agency. |
