We're coming to tonight live. I said to Nick, we might want to wait a little bit tonight before we go.

And I was right because some big news was brewing. Some news that, as Nick can confirm,

I actually hinted him to a little bit earlier this week about four or five days ago before it was even in the

mixed this Brian Birch trade had a little birdie I'm not going to give away too much more

info on that because I want to keep that birdie in the pocket in case some further

information comes down the line but the compensation he suggested ended up being almost exact

and now Brian Burns is a member of the Giants and And I'm told Nick that, and I don't want to go too far on this again, I want to keep this info flowing. But I'm told the Giants were not the only suitor for Brian Burns and trades. And they were five teams in the mix. And that doesn't surprise me at all for a 25- pass rusher who quite clearly wasn't maybe the best

fit for what carolina was trying to do on the defense side of the ball he dropped the coverage

a lot last year i have the stats up we'll get into him in a little bit but last year was the

fewest pass rush snaps he had uh as a pass rush since the end of the NFL nine sacks on the season

go ahead it seems odd though if if there were so many suitors, no one could do better than a two and a fifth. That's a lot. That's a lot to give a two and a five. We're giving up 39. It's not 47. It's 39 from what I'm hearing. Yeah, I'm aware of that, but it's still like this is a 25 year old star pass rusher. I would imagine it would still be more serious.

And I get that.

It came with the contract as well, but who wouldn't want to lock up a player like Brian Burns? Well, I think that the fact there is one, like you said, the contract, there's only a certain number of teams who can afford to give him five years, $150 million against their cap right now. And the Giants apparently are one of them, which leads me to some conclusions and some thoughts on some other things going on with the Giants' current roster and future players that might or might not be on that roster given this deal. But one, maybe not every team that's in contention can afford him, Nick. And two, is the fact that matter that some people, like, look, we may view him as a star or a budding star

I personally do I think the reason the giants went so aggressive to get him is because they

envision a specific fit and chain bow and system that will unlock him to a different level at 25

years old but statistically speaking he hasn't been like a 15 16 sacked and ill hunter type

production guy and so you know you're not and he's young, maybe that was also a factor in

why no team offered a first round pick.
