So instead of figuring that out, I bought a little sailing boat at 33 footer and just parked it on the back side of the island and just lived on the boat and worked in the restaurant.

So I stayed there for the summer and then in the wintertime I needed to find

a girl with an apartment. Frederick is another 30-something super adventurous, inspiring sailor that we met

in Reykjavik. I've said this before but I really like to record people that I have no idea who they are, who we meet out on these cool trips that are actually in their element, on their boat, doing cool stuff. And we met Frederick on the dock in Reykjavik. We were on our way to Ireland. He was on his way back to Norway. In fact, I think my dad met him first. And my dad's like, man, you got to go talk to that guy. You know, he's a shaved bald head, a big Viking beard. And my dad's like, yeah, I'm going to, he was very intimidating. I got to help my game a little bit. But I went over and talked to him. Turns out, of course, he's Swedish. We made a lot of Scandinavians out doing this cool stuff. But we talked for a bit. He's super friendly guy.

He's much, I mean, I guess he has an intimidating look to him kind of, but he's super friendly.

And we hit it off right away. He invited us over to the boat to record a podcast. And he does

something similar to us, but he does it on almost a more pure level. He has this 53-foot catch

and just takes volunteer crew

that some have sailing experience, some don't, and they're mostly 20-somethings backpackers, and they

just sail all over the place. He's been back and forth across the Atlantic a bunch of times,

all the way up to Svalbard, heading back to Norway now, and just really a self-made guy. He started

work as a sommelier and then opened his own

restaurant in Bergen, sold the restaurant to finance the sailing stuff. And now he's kind of headed

back home to see what the next project's going to be in his life. And he doesn't even know what it's

going to be. But just talking to people like that that have this attitude about their lives, their lives and their careers, it's so inspiring.

And I just, I'm so happy to meet these people and get their stories on the podcast because I think, I hope that it inspires you guys who are listening to follow a similar path and that there's no secret to it.
