Hello and welcome to Freaky Friday, where we tell your odd but true stories stay as Friday, September 29th

And this week the stories are all around the central theme of the episode we covered this week, Jehovah's Witnesses

We've received countless emails of all kinds to do everybody justice

We wanted to be able to get as many stories heard as possible

So we have eight this week, we have even more

We had to narrow it down, we might even do another one next week

There's, I'm telling you, if you are a disfellowshipped JW or just someone who ghosted it or whatever, a survivor of some sort

There are so many of you and you all have almost worked for word the same story about your childhood and just how horrible it was to grow up and something like this

So all that to say the silver lining is there is a huge community of people out there that have gone through exactly what you're going through

And several of them listed supportive places that they found online

But if we can connect anybody anyway, we've heard great stuff about the subreddit, the XJW subreddit, there's a lot of Facebook groups for X members

So all that to say there is help and support out there for people that are going through what you all have gone through

It's been extremely eye-opening just how many people have gone through this specific type of trauma and abuse that only a cult can really inflict on someone

Most definitely and that's the subreddits and us being able to share stories like this

It gets me every time when people just say like, oh my gosh, I'm not crazy or oh I'm not alone or oh I'm not

There's such power in community and the isolation of this group is one of their most horrible tactics

Is shunning isolation, driving a wedge between family members

And so if there's a way to circumvent that, figure out how other families have dealt with that
