so there's no confusion thanks for that what are you doing I told you this is

second part of a first part don't do that stop it all right friends so before

we dive back into things I wanted this is the perfect time for us to talk about

something that you talked about at a point in the first part of us podcasting

about Freaknik which was how this was the first kind of iteration of a bunch of

black people enjoying spring break and showing and being able to see imagery of

what that looks like because spring break has always been kind of seen through

the lens of predominantly white institutions when they do MTV does college

spring break is you know blonde blue eyed girls and bikinis and a smash

mouth and boy bands and you know people in the pools dancing it looks very

lavish to somebody who is from Baltimore or who is from a place that is not a

beach beach side if you're from Montgomery Alabama the MTV Beach House looks

like I'll never be there yeah but Freaknik took place in Atlanta in the middle

of a city there's no beach there's no sand it just as black people having a

good time in partying so can you speak to what that feels like because we

I think we both can speak to this the difference in going to I've never done

it but I would imagine going to a country concert and you can still have a

good time at the concert and going to go see you know Jarl Fatt Joe Jada

Kiss 2000s medley festival where it's like all black people that look like you

and you're not trying to fit in you can just be you be yourself yeah so that's
