So really, when you're watching them, like, they're doing really sophisticated acting because it's four actors playing eight parts.

And we really rehearsed a lot and used of visual cues, mannerisms, voices, had the actor spend time with each other.

in director Nisha Ganatra's family comedy, Freakier Friday.

The follow-up to 2003's Freaky Friday finds Tess and her daughter Anna navigating a shift in family dynamics with Anna's daughter and stepdaughter.

However, they soon discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.

In addition to Freakier Friday, Kanatra's other directorial credits include the feature films The High Note and Late Night,

and episodes of the series, Deli Boys, Welcome to Chippendales, Transparent, Mr. Robot,

shameless, and Brooklyn Nine-N-Nine.

She was nominated for the 2020 DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials

for her Libreast Bodyform ad,

hashtag womb stories.

Following a screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, Gannatra spoke with

director Adele Lim about filming Freakier Friday.
