Dave Mustaine was the original guitarist from Metallica.

Literally, I think, a week before they recorded their first album,

they woke him up on a couch and handed him a bus ticket home.

Mustang was just distraught. Really upset. He told himself, you know what, I'm going to start

another metal band and it's going to be better in Metallica.

I'm going to sell way more records.

Them kicking me out of Metallica is going to be the worst thing that they ever did.

I'm going to show them.

And so he went home and he started a band called Megadeth.

He sold like 30 million records, played stadiums and arenas,

been on MTV and he's multi-multi-millionaire.

In a documentary in the mid-2000s, he told the interviewer,

he said, I still feel like a failure sometimes.

Megadast so successful, but I'm still not better than Metallica, and that bothers me.

You and I, if we got the tour of the world and play for millions of fans and make millions of dollars, you know, for us, that's like, beyond our wildest imagination of what success could be.

But because Mustaine's metric for himself was be better than Metallica, he still felt like a failure.
