Hello and welcome to Story Time for Grownups. I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading

0:06.5

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Each episode, I'll read a few chapters from the book, pausing from time

0:13.6

to time to give brief explanations so it's easier to follow along. It's like an audiobook with built-in

0:19.9

notes. So brew a pot of tea, find a cozy

0:23.4

chair, and settle in. It's story time.

0:26.9

Oh my gosh, you guys, do we have a lot to talk about. Wow. Okay, a lot happened in those last chapters. So we have to get to it. But first, welcome. I'm so happy that you're here. Thank you for joining me on Storytime for Grownups. It has finally

0:55.5

become fall where I am. It has been beautiful for a long time, but warm. And now finally there's

1:02.3

that crisp bite in the air that makes it fall. And I just love it. I'm here for it, especially

1:08.3

because this book is definitely descending into darkness,

1:13.9

into spooky season right along with us.

1:17.0

So it's really fun to be reading this book with you guys.

1:20.1

And like I said, I'm really glad you guys are here because I just have so much to say,

1:25.6

and otherwise I would be just talking to myself.

1:27.7

So thank you for being here to listen to what I have to say, but also to this wonderful book, Frankenstein.

1:33.5

So before we get into all of that, just a couple of reminders.

1:38.3

There are two dates coming up that you might want to know about.

1:41.5

One is that this Saturday, this coming Saturday, you will get the

1:45.7

trailer for our very early Christmas Spectacular, which begins November 3rd. So October 18th,

1:52.3

the Saturday is when that trailer is going to drop. So please make sure that you are subscribed

1:57.5

to this show. And that way the trailer will just drop and it'll be a surprise,

2:01.5

and you'll be like, wow, and get to listen to it, as opposed to having to go looking for it, and that's no fun. So subscribe to the show and look out for that on the 18th. The other date to be aware of is October 28th at 8 p.m. Eastern is the next tea time. I'll remind you as it gets closer, but if you would like to join and you're not yet a member of the drawing room community and you're not in the landed gentry membership tier, you should sign up. This is a good time to do that. I've noticed that we've had some new signups, which is amazing. I'm hoping to hear some new voices in the chat and also to get to check in with my old friends. So sign up for the drawing room online community if you haven't done that

2:37.9

already. amazing. I'm hoping to hear some new voices in the chat and also to get to check in with my old friends. So sign up for the drawing room online community if you haven't done that already and you would like to join us on the 28th at 8 p.m. Eastern for tea time.
