What's up everybody. Joining us today is Frank Young, a good friend of mine, a K.A. brother from another mother and he resides in Utah and, yeah Frank is a great guy. Say hello to everybody.

0:29.0

How you doing guys. I think we're having me on. I really appreciate it.

0:33.0

I'm forward to talking about some of my hunts and some other stuff that I do. So I appreciate it.

0:43.0

Sorry about that. I shouldn't be allowed to mess with this thing.

0:48.0

Yeah, cool man. Yeah, we appreciate you having on. David said nothing. Like I was saying earlier, David said nothing but good stuff to say about you.

0:54.0

You said that you had a pretty exciting bison hunt, not too terribly long ago and that ended up being the Utah State record, is that right?

1:04.0

Yeah, correct for archery. That was quite the hunt. Dave was there with me actually and that was one of my once in a lifetime hunts for Utah that you get to put in for. I think I put in for 23 years.

1:17.0

I guess I always wanted to shoot a bison since I was a kid. I went with my father who threw a Henry's tag about 27 years ago.

1:26.0

1:34.0

A little bit I know, you know, fast forward, 20 years. I wish those points were for sheep.

1:40.0

Did you, did you expect to draw the tag when you when you drew it or was it still a bit of a surprise?

1:48.0

I knew that if I switch from the Henry mountains to the booklist, that I would probably draw. So I was pretty much expecting the tag.

1:56.0

Okay. Yeah. What were the percentages of drawing that percentage of drawing it for a normal person?

2:06.0

You know, if not any points or just in the general draw would be I mean one in thousands. Well, I think they issue maybe 10, 20 tag a year.

2:17.0

But like that, not very many in Utah. There's three different places you can hunt bison that are wild hurts.

2:24.0

The first place, Anneloo, byland that plays a little different and kind of more controlled.

2:30.0

And then you have the Henry mountains and the booklist. And this is an any weapon hunt, but they give you a season date, right?

2:37.0

Correct. It's an any weapon hunt rifle, whatever. I mean, everyone is rifle mostly.

2:42.0

And the hunt for the booklist is really long because it can be a really tough hunt.

2:48.0

It's mostly a migrational hunt when the bison move off the Indian land way up high.
