My cast away this week is the boxing promoter Frank Warren.

Over the last 30 years, he has changed the face of the sport and worked with the biggest names in it.

Among them, Mike Tyson, Joe Calzaghi, Prince Nassim Hammett, Ricky Hatton,

Andalyn Pick Medal winner Amir Khan.

If he were in the ring, rather than out of it, his nickname might be Frank the Phoenix Warren.

He has lost fortunes and remade them, survived an assassination attempt, and even a run-in with Mike Tyson.

Never a professional boxer himself, he is nonetheless always willing to defend his turf.

When I was a kid, he says, I came from a pretty rough area, and so there were a few fights.

I'd never back down from anyone, rightly or wrongly.

I've been that way in boxing. I fight my corner.

Frank Warren, if you fight your corner, then winning must be important.

I don't know if it's winnings important.

I think if I'm right about something, then I'll fight my corner.

Then I'll take it all the way I can to get my point across.

You don't tell me winning isn't important.

I mean, it's important, obviously, if you're a boxer, it's very, very important.

Yeah, everybody wants to be a winner.

But you want to be a winner with a bit of dignity and a bit of pride.
