and the conquest of the Inca Empire. Last time we looked at Pizarro's early life. He had grown up poor and illiterate

and had come to the new world to find fame and fortune. He had gone on to be a soldier, explorer,

and slave trader, and was known for his ability to get the job done, no matter what was needed.

He was also extremely ambitious and ruthless, even betraying his fellow countryman, Vasco

Nunez de Balboa.

Pizarro had led two exploratory expeditions to South America in search of the wealthy empire

that supposedly existed in the land called Peru.
