Summary
So much for a 2014 Ole Miss-Alabama redux.
The Crimson Tide over the weekend lost at LSU, meaning the stakes have changed when Alabama rolls into Oxford on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS.
LSU controls the SEC West and holds the tiebreaker over Ole Miss. Even if the Rebels win out, they could still fall short of reaching the SEC title game in Atlanta, Ga., for the first time in program history.
It's 2003 all over again.
The directive now is to keep pace and get some help. Both Ole Miss (Alabama, at Arkansas, Mississippi State) and LSU (at Arkansas, UAB, at Texas A&M) have three games remaining. The Rebels were always going to have to buck history and win out anyway.
