Today we are diving deep into a case that has shocked France and the world, the story of

Giselle Pelico. Now, trigger warning guys, this is a very disturbing tale of sexual assault, betrayal,

systematic abuse, and ultimately the strength of one woman who chose to stand up and speak out.

Giselle and Dominique Pelico met when they were 19 and married at 21.

For 50 years they appeared to be the perfect couple.

They raised three children, had seven grandchildren, and enjoyed family vacations together.

Giselle herself set in court.

I thought we were a strong couple.

We had everything to be happy.

Even their friends described them as the ideal couple.

In 2013, after the couple retired to the southern town of Maizan,

Giselle began experiencing unexplained health issues.

She was losing weight, her hair was falling out, she had significant memory lapses.

Giselle told the court, I was persuaded I had the beginnings of Alzheimer's or a brain tumor.

She experienced what she called total blackouts losing entire days and nights from her memory.

What she didn't know was that her seemingly devoted husband, Dominique, was systematically

drugging her with crushed sleeping pills in her food and drinks.

Between 2011 and 2020, Dominique Pelico routinely drugged his wife and invited

strangers to rape her unconscious body in their own bedroom.

He meticulously filmed and photographed these assaults, creating a vast archive of his crimes.
