What I fell in love with in the Marine Corps was the Marines, and I did also really love the flying.

Everything was compartmentalized.

I was armored up.

No matter what happened around me, I was not affected by it.

I crossed over from not being scared of dying to just accepting that that was probably going to happen

and being okay with it.

I had just sort of accepted at some point

I'm probably going to die in this aircraft
