to by pitcherless.com. My name is Jake Crumpler, and it's the weekend. So as always, I'll be

baseball related from Saturday, September 7th. We'll start it off as always with the

transactions, injuries, news, and notes from around the league. Starting with the bad news,

as starting pitcher Max Meyer was placed on the 15-day I.L. with right shoulder Bersitis.

Meyer was scheduled to start today, but will instead head to the

IL for at least the next two weeks. Even if he returns in the minimum time, Meyer will only have

enough season left to make a couple more starts. The Marlins also placed closing pitcher Calvin

Foshae on the 15-day IL with a right-shoulder impingement. Foshae has been working as the club's

closer since the trade

deadline, but will now have that title stripped as he moves to the IL. Anthony Bender was activated from

the 15-day IL in a corresponding move and will likely team up with John McMillan and Hesu's

Tinoco to create a closer committee in Miami. And lastly, outfielder Joe Adele was placed on the 10-day I-L with a left oblique strain.

Adele left his last game with irritation in his side and testing revealed an oblique strain.

Obliques can be tricky to recover from, so Adele's season is certainly in jeopardy with just a few

weeks left and angels far from contention.
