Let's dive into everything baseball related from Saturday, September 14th.

We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news, and notes from around

the league.

Starting with the bad news, a starting pitcher Ryan Nelson was placed on the 15-day IL with

right shoulder inflammation.

With only 14 days left in the season, Nelson's campaign will come to a close.

The debacks are hopeful he'll recover in time for the postseason if they hold their current

wildcard standing, and Jordan Montgomery and Yilbert Diaz are candidates to replace Nelson

in the rotation.

In terms of transactions, starting pitcher Max Scherzer was

officially activated from the 15-day IL yesterday as expected. Scherzer held the Mariners to two runs

across four innings in his return from a month and a half long rehab from shoulder fatigue.

Middle infielder Luis Angel Acuna was promoted from AAA as expected yesterday.

Ronald Acuna Jr.'s younger brother and the Mets number 12 prospect, Luis Angel Acuna went two for four

with two singles in his debut as he batted ninth and filled in for the ailing Francisco

Linder at shortstop. And lastly, shortstop Carlos Correa was activated from the 10-day IL as expected yesterday.
