Let's dive into everything baseball related from Friday, September 13th.

Starting it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news, and notes from around the league.

We were fortunate enough to come away from the day with no significant IL placements and

we'll move on to the transactions, beginning with starting pitcher Jacob de Grom,

who was activated

from the 60-day IL.

DeGrom has missed the entire season recovering from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last

year.

He looked great in four rehab starts before looking the same in his season debut in Seattle.

DeGrom tossed three and two-thirds scoreless innings and fanned four, but he averaged just

97 miles per hour on his typically league leading heater, so that'll be important to see if it's

something that he's just holding back with little to play for as the Rangers are not going to make

the playoffs, or if he's going to be a compromised version of himself moving forward.

Or maybe it's a conscious effort on his part to stay healthy.

Only time will tell.

And our other transaction involves starting pitcher Emerson Hancock, who was recalled from the miners.

Hancock squared off against DeGrom and fared pretty well, surrendering three runs across five frames.
