baseball related from Friday, July 7th. We'll start off, as always, with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around the league.

Our IL placement starts off with outfielder Estuary Ruiz being placed on the 10-day

IL with a right shoulder subluxation, which is otherwise known as a dislocation.

Depending on the severity of the dislocation, Ruiz could see an extended absence.

Sometimes this can require surgery, but the All-Star break will cushion the blow to the A's lineup.

J.J. Bladay will shift to center field, allowing Brent Rooker to see more at Bats until Ruiz returns.

Utility man Tommy Edmund of the Cardinals was placed on the 10-day IL with right wrist inflammation. The injury doesn't seem too serious, but with the All-Star break coming up, Edmund will get a head start on resting that wrist.

Outfielder Dylan Carlson should see an influx of playing time while Edmund is out.
