Welcome back to another episode of the first pitch podcast brought to by Pitcherlist.com.

Let's dive into everything baseball related from Wednesday, May 28th.

We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news, and notes from around the league, kicking things off with the bad news as catcher Joey Bart was placed on the seven-day IL with a concussion.

He was hit by a back swing and unfortunately has a head injury and he'll head to the IL.

Hopefully we see Bart back in the minimum time in a week.

Head injuries are always very scary.

In a corresponding move, the Pirates activated catcher, Andy Rodriguez, from the 10-day IL.

He had missed some time with an index finger laceration and will mainly be the backup to Henry Davis at catcher. Davis will take

over for Joey Bart as the Pirates Everyday Catcher for the time being, but Rodriguez also

has the ability to play some first base. In terms of transactions, shortstop Corey Seeger,

who had been out with a strained hamstring, was activated from the 15-day IL.

Seeger played D.H. in his return, which pushed Sam Hagerty to the bench.

Josh Smith stayed at shortstop, but we could see Hagerty still platoon at D.H.,

which would see Seeger move to shortstop against lefties and Smith head to the bench.

First baseman Blaine Crim was optioned to the miners in a corresponding move,

but hey, it's good to see Corey Seeger back.

Next, we have starting pitcher Logan Evans, who was optioned to the miners by the Mariners

...
