Let's dive into everything baseball related from Tuesday, May 27th. We'll start it off,

as always with the transactions, injuries, news, and notes from around the league, starting things off with the bad news as outfielder Matt Veerling was placed on the 10-day IL but shoulder

inflammation. Veerling missed the first two months of the season with a strained rotator cuff

and return from the IL for just four days

before heading back to the IL. He's likely out longer than the minimum 10 days, given the

recurring nature of his shoulder injury. That's Matt Beirling. In a corresponding move outfielder

when Seale Perez was activated from the 60-day IL. He had missed the entire season thus far with back inflammation.

He's not guaranteed everyday playing time in Detroit, but Perez is likely to see time across the outfield.

Our other aisle placement involves first baseman Nick Kurtz, who was placed on the 10-day

aisle with a hip flexor strain.

It's retroactive to May 25th, so that sort of suggests that the A's will attempt to bring

Kurtz back in the minimum time so we could see him back in early June.

C.J. Alexander and Logan Davidson are expected to take over in a platoon at first base

while Kurtz is out.

In terms of transactions, starting pitcher Richard Fitz was

activated from the 15-day IL to start in Milwaukee. He tossed three shutout innings, allowing two hits
