Let's dive into everything baseball related from Wednesday, April 23rd.

We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news, and notes from around the league.

Kicking things off with the bad news, a shortstop Corey Seeger was placed on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain,

sort of unfortunate, but it seems minor. He should be back in the minimum time. Nick Ahmed was selected

from the minors in a corresponding move, and it looks like he's going to be on the short side of a

shortstop platoon, as Josh Smith sees the majority of playing time at shortstop in Corey Seeger's

absence. Smith was playing center field over the past couple of days.

So while he moves to short stops, it looks like Leoti Tavaris and Dustin Harris are going

to see some time in center field as well as Kevin Pilar.

The other injury we have involves relief pitcher Jose LeClerc, who was placed on the 15-day

IL with a latch strain.

He was the number one setup option for the A's to Mason Miller.

So while LeCler is recovering from the latch strain, Tyler Ferguson and Justin Sterner

will be your top options for holds for the A's.

In terms of transactions, outfielder Zach Veen was optioned to the miners by the Rockies.

He had a very rough start to his major league career batting 118 with one homer, a 38%
