Summary

The death of George Floyd sparked protests across the country and a national conversation about criminal justice reform and even defunding the police. Since then, crime has risen further and cities are torn between trying to curb violence in their streets while answering the call for police reform. Bill Bratton was the top cop in both New York and Los Angeles, and is credited with helping both cities tackle their serious crime epidemics. On the FOX NEWS Rundown this week, host Jessica Rosenthal spoke to former police commissioner Bratton about his career's successes and how he would address both the crime and social issues we have seen grow over the past year. Bratton explains why many of the obstacles cops face are the same now as they were decades ago. However, he also explains how the death of George Floyd, new technology and increased social awareness has changed policing forever. The conversation was too long and we could not include all of it in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with former Los Angeles, Boston and New York police commissioner Bill Bratton. He gives more of his take on gun control, community policing and President Biden's recent announced strategy to tackle the current national crime surge. Learn more about your ad choices.
