Summary

As many expected, we did not get a clear winner in the presidential race on Election night. Also as expected, it appears the elections results will be challenged politically and legally for weeks. This is nothing new for America. Our country has had a handful of close, controversial, and disputed presidential contests. Earlier this week, before Election Day, host Dave Anthony spoke with Ed Larson, professor of History at Pepperdine University, about some of the most controversial and closely contested elections in our history. The historian and author discusses the infamous 'hanging chads' controversy in 2000 and takes a deep look at the election of 1876 where it took over 100 days to know the winner.
