I'm Taylor Riggs, and this is the Fox Business Rundown.

Friday, December 19th, 2025. While the holidays are supposed to be the time forgiving,

many Gen Ziers, well, it seems to be more about receiving as they warm up to socialist ideas.

If young adults are iced out of the housing market,

if they're iced out of the job market, they're not going to have as much investment in the system and they're going to be much more willing to burn it all down. It's been talked and

memed about all year. Generation Z is struggling economically. They're being priced out of the housing market, as we learned

recently, the median home buying age just hit an all-time high at 59. Young people also face

challenges in the job market, as many companies are cutting entry-level jobs due to economic pressure,

and of course, the rise of AI.

And let us not forget about all the debt they carry.

And while President Trump performed well with young voters, winning about 46% of Gen Ziers last year,

including 56% of young men, in 2025, there appears to be a shift left. This year,

we saw more and more signs that Jen Ziers are embracing these socialist views, as we've seen the

surge of progressive candidates like Zohren Mumdani, who won last month's New York City mayoral race, really focus on the

issue of affordability and push ideas like free buses.

And according to a poll out this past September, young adults generally, and especially

young Democrats, they are cooling on capitalism.

Now, only 31% of Democrats under the age of 50 have a positive

view of capitalism. That's compared to 54% in 2010. This sentiment is also being echoed by young

celebrities. Recently, actress Amanda Seafreed said, socialism is a gorgeous idea. So what's behind this trend?
