Welcome to this week's foul Friday Tip of the Week, brought to you by H.P. Outdoors.

Here's your host, Josh Palm, and Dan bringing you another foul Friday quick tip of the week.

You know lately we've been receiving a lot of questions from guys that are hunting out of canoes and they want to know how are they

going to brush their canoes, which ways can they go about concealing them, all of that kind of stuff.

I can't help but wondering to myself, you know, I'm assuming that most of these guys are hunting out of the canoe.

It's sort of a layout boat, you know.

They're sitting down in the bottom and they're trying to get it to be as stable as possible.

Well, I've got another tip for you here that might actually give you another way that you can hunt under your canoe that's safe and also very effective.

There's a couple caveats that go along with this. One, absolutely always wear your life jacket. There's absolutely no way that you can compromise the safety when you're hunting out of a canoe.

And two, the biggest thing with this is you got to take the time to do it correctly.

What I suggest is get yourself a couple

stakes, whether it be metal or wood if you prefer, maybe a mini sledges to take with you out into

the field, and then you hammer in stakes on either side of the canoe on both ends where you're going to be hunting.

Obviously the water in this area needs to be pretty shallow, you know, since you're going to be kind of limited on the length of your stakes.

But once you drive those stakes right down into the mud and they're good and solid,

then you take a couple of sea clamps and you actually clamp the side of your boat to these stakes.

Once you do that, it's a really, really solid platform. So you can sit

sideways in the boat, you don't have to worry about the boat flipping over when you're shooting, all of that

kind of stuff. It really creates a nice stable platform.

Again, this is probably something you want to practice once or twice in the daylight,

out of season, when the water is warm, before you go out there and try that.
