| 0:00.0 | Welcome to this week's foul Friday Tip of the Week, brought to you by H.P. Outdoors. |
| 0:04.5 | Here's your host, Josh Palm, and Dan bringing you another foul Friday quick tip of the week. |
| 0:19.0 | You know lately we've been receiving a lot of questions from guys that are hunting out of canoes and they want to know how are they |
| 0:24.2 | going to brush their canoes, which ways can they go about concealing them, all of that kind of stuff. |
| 0:28.8 | I can't help but wondering to myself, you know, I'm assuming that most of these guys are hunting out of the canoe. |
| 0:34.0 | It's sort of a layout boat, you know. |
| 0:35.8 | They're sitting down in the bottom and they're trying to get it to be as stable as possible. |
| 0:40.8 | Well, I've got another tip for you here that might actually give you another way that you can hunt under your canoe that's safe and also very effective. |
| 0:47.0 | There's a couple caveats that go along with this. One, absolutely always wear your life jacket. There's absolutely no way that you can compromise the safety when you're hunting out of a canoe. |
| 0:57.0 | And two, the biggest thing with this is you got to take the time to do it correctly. |
| 1:02.0 | What I suggest is get yourself a couple |
| 1:05.2 | stakes, whether it be metal or wood if you prefer, maybe a mini sledges to take with you out into |
| 1:10.4 | the field, and then you hammer in stakes on either side of the canoe on both ends where you're going to be hunting. |
| 1:16.1 | Obviously the water in this area needs to be pretty shallow, you know, since you're going to be kind of limited on the length of your stakes. |
| 1:22.8 | But once you drive those stakes right down into the mud and they're good and solid, |
| 1:26.8 | then you take a couple of sea clamps and you actually clamp the side of your boat to these stakes. |
| 1:31.4 | Once you do that, it's a really, really solid platform. So you can sit |
| 1:35.9 | sideways in the boat, you don't have to worry about the boat flipping over when you're shooting, all of that |
| 1:41.1 | kind of stuff. It really creates a nice stable platform. |
| 1:44.0 | Again, this is probably something you want to practice once or twice in the daylight, |
| 1:48.0 | out of season, when the water is warm, before you go out there and try that. |
| 1:51.0 | The first time you do this does not want to be on a January morning |
