guest today my co-founder my brother in arms that we'd be here talking to you this far end, I don't think either one of us

would have believed you, but we can only say thank you so much for all you've done,

all you're doing, and all you will do in this fight for American democracy.

All right so Rick this is hard to believe the fourth anniversary episode of the Lincoln Project on December 17th, 2019, the fledgling rocket ship known as the Lincoln Project lifted off.

I tell people that, you know, when we first launched, we had an op-ed in the New York Times,

a bank account, and a website and an idea.

It started from humble beginnings.

I thought that we were going to raise about $25,000 that last two weeks of 2019. We did this. We raised about $400,000. dollars that know what we had but we should remember too that really from that moment until

basically early May we were something of an oddity Republicans who were going

against Trump and raising modest amounts of money and doing some things

especially because remember when we launched Rick pre-Covid pre-First impeachment of

Donald Trump he was on his way to a pretty from our perspective resounding victory in 2020 and at that moment we thought that the Democratic nominee was either going to be Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.
