Well, let's do our best to look at some of the highlights of each view. We're going to try to

0:11.0

synopsize each of these views quickly Ken and let's start

0:15.9

with Kenton Sparks give us a synopsis of his view yes there is I think one of the one of the strong points of the book is that it really does

0:27.2

have positions that address the ends of the spectrum. In other words, you're going to find

0:32.1

one end of evangelicalism to the other, and there are two

0:37.6

mediating positions.

0:39.3

Kenton's position, I think that he will not be offended by me saying that he would probably be

0:45.5

representative of the most progressive our left-leaning view of

0:50.7

1:41.0

Now, I want to hasten to say that that Kenton will identify as an

1:46.2

evangelical. I know that some would understand someone to deny the

1:51.2

historicity of Adam and Eve to be someone who is

1:54.0

is beyond the pale of evangelicalism.

1:56.5

But Kinton affirms the Nicene Creed,

2:01.0

he affirms the Apostles Creed, he holds to a very orthodox view of Christ who he is and what he's done.

2:09.0

And he would argue that his understanding of the New Testament and of the person of Christ is not

2:15.3

threatened by having a non-historical Adam and Eve.
