The sinners chains like Peters fell off at the word of the Redeemer

and he's brought into the light not because of anything he's done

but in spite of everything he's done. The only proper response to grace,

As you celebrate Thanksgiving this week,

let me suggest that at some point,

you write down the many blessings you have

to be thankful for.

Good health, the job God has provided for you, the church you're part of, all of these

reasons for thanks. And of course if you're a Christian, one blessing ought to motivate

your thankfulness more than anything else.

Well, let's open our Bibles back to Psalm 107.

Now, this Psalm has a very special place in my heart for a very interesting reason. I didn't realize how the reading of that

Somme would impact a young man who was sitting to my left and toward the back. I

later came to understand that this psalm just being read without comment was the turning

point in his life. This was a young man, a very tall and handsome young man named Robert.

He had been for many years a part of the gay activist group in Los Angeles.
