I'm going to go to 1st Samuel chapter 17 and if you don't have a Bible we'll put it up on the screen for you

1st Samuel chapter 17. How many y'all are familiar with a story about David and Goliath?

Come on, if you have never been to church before, you know about David and Goliath.

We're gonna jump into this story in 1st Samuel, Chapter 17.

And for time sake, we don't have time to read the whole chapter,

but it's an amazing chapter.

I encourage you to read it sometime.

But starting in verse one, it says,

now the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle and were gathered at

Soco which belongs to Judah they encamps between Soco and Azika in Eis Damm. Okay, I tried.

V verse four, it says, and a champion went out

from the camp of the Philistines,

named Goliath from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span which is just a little

over nine feet tall this is a big warrior that came out now there's a lot of

details that happen.

David shows up on the scene, but he's showing up to just bring lunch to his brothers.

Israel is freaked out because of the champion Goliath, doesn't know who's going to fight him and David overhears this and

realizes wait a second I'll step up and fight him everybody thinks he's crazy King Saul

says well if you're the only willing volunteer here's my armor David's like no I don't

need I don't need your armor let's pick it up in verse 37 it says

moreover David said the Lord who delivered me from the paw the lion and from the paw of the bear,

he will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. And King Saul said to David, go and the
