Today is a really fun show because I got to interview two old friends of mine,

the brothers Colin and Eric Jacobson.

These guys are truly Renaissance men of the classical world.

Colin is a composer and violinist who also is a founding member of the string quartet

Brooklyn Rider.

Eric is a conductor and cellist who is the music director of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the Greater Bridgeport Symphony.

And together they co-founded the New York-based orchestra The Knights, who have claimed a spot over the last 10 years as one of the most dynamic and adventurous orchestras in the world.

They've toured globally and made highly regarded recordings also with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma.

These guys are two of the most interesting people in classical music, and so we talked about a lot of things,

including the founding of the Knights, what they felt might have been missing in the classical world

when they founded the orchestra, what it means to play chamber music in an orchestra, and of course

the current pandemic situation and what it means for the future for a completely privately funded
