Today we are talking with Stio, founder and CEO,

Stephen Sully Sullivan, and I guarantee two things here. One, you are going to come away from this conversation with a much better understanding of the backstory of Stio and for anyone who is

curious about the behind-the-scenes challenges and battles, strategies and rewards of running an

outdoor brand, well, Sully pulls the curtain all the way back and shares a number of the really wild twists and turns he experienced

while co-founding his first company Cloudvale in Jackson, Wyoming in 1997, and then launching Stio in 2011.

Sully and I dive into some of the most significant and sometimes painful

lessons he learned. We uncover some deep industry insights and Sully shares some of the key

factors involved in building a successful outdoor company. Finally, you are also going to get to hear from Flylo co-founder and president Dan Abrams.

Dan sent in two big questions that are relevant to every customer of outdoor gear, as well as

every maker of outdoor gear.
