Don has spent over 40 years teaching students that a green thumb isn't a gift. It's the result

of understanding

applied horticulture. In this episode, we're looking at how understanding plant botany

is an important tool in your shed. Gardening trends and products come and go, but the science

of how a plant interacts with its environment is timeless. To truly master your craft, you have to move

past the how and start

asking why. You have to learn to identify those hidden limiting factors, the gaps in your

garden's ecosystem, and exactly how to fill them. Don and I believe in this foundational approach

so much that we've spent the last few years collaborating behind the scenes. We are finally nearing the

launch of a comprehensive online botany course designed to take those deep dive concepts and turn

them into a practical, repeatable toolkit for your growth. I know that going back to school for

horticulture, if you're already working in the industry, might not be practical due to the time

restraints in everyday life. I'm hoping this course will allow growers to better understand the core concepts of botany

because they offer the best lens for evaluating and proving your grow.
