During our time together, I want to turn our attention to a subject that has been fascinating for me and at times a real struggle.

The longer I live, the more I believe the two most profound subjects that can be addressed in the Christian life are, in this order, prayer and the will of God.

I want you always to bring your Bible with you. I want you to have your notebook handy that has been very carefully prepared.

We've done a lot of dialoguing and emailing and telephone conversations to prepare this

And you'll really be a wash if you don't have both a Bible and your notebook in your lap and

a pen handy, even to do nothing more than to write down the scripture

I know a lot less about the will of God than I wish I knew.

I have never had a mentor. I have never had a teacher.

I have never had a pastor with whom I was close, who didn't admit that this is one of those

use the words, the will of God, or we hope God will have his way in this or whatever, rather

glibly. But the deeper we dig into it, the more we will realize how little we know.
